Often people are working jobs that are not a match to their personality type, which can cause an individual to experience unhappiness.  There are several personality assessments out there including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Big 5 (Five Factor Model), Strengths Finder, NEO, etc. that can help you determine your strengths and possible career paths.

After participating in my own career coaching program, I discovered I am an ENFP according to the MBTI, which means I have a preference for Extroversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Perceiving.  ENFPs love to help people explore their potential, both creatively and professionally.  They also seek to "discover the deeper meaning in people and ideas", and they "prize individuality and often consider the pursuit of happiness to be the highest priority in life, both for themselves and for others."**

Jobs such as coaching, counseling, training, and human resources correlate well with the ENFP personality type.
